On the Michigan Trail with Amy and Gonzo: Easter Brunch 2023

By JOHN GONZALEZ

TRAVERSE CITY, MI - I can't believe Easter is right around the corner. That means Easter baskets, Easter egg hunts, getting dressed up, spending time with family and, most importantly, for foodies at least, Easter Brunch!

Who doesn't love a great meal, especially as we transition from Winter to Spring and our favorite chefs change up their menus with items that reflect the season?

I just finished an article for the Traverse City Record-Eagle, which had me feature some items on local Easter Brunch menus this year. (The full article is scheduled to appear in Saturday's newspaper, April 1.)

In the article I led with details about the Easter Brunch menu at Burrow TC, one of the hottest new restaurants in town from Honest Hospitality TC, which also owns and operates taco spot Mama Lu's and Italian pasta house Flying Noodle.

I loved talking to Burrow's chef de cuisine Sarah Janego and GM Brad Smith. They were a lot of fun and super excited to show off their Easter Brunch menu, which is their first. Burrow opened last June.

Like others I talked to for the story, Janego was excited for Easter, and for the change of seasons.

“It was a pretty long winter up here,” she said. “I’m personally excited for Spring to see fresh things coming in.”

Others I included in the story: Boathouse Restaurant on the Old Mission Peninsula, Artisan at Delamar Hotels, Crystal Mountain in Thompsonville and Black Star Farms in Suttons Bay.
